Safety Alert from Friday, April 19, 2024
VU Alert - Timely warnings are issued in an effort to make the Viterbo community aware of any situation that poses a potential threat to the safety and well-being of those who live, work, study, and visit the campus. By keeping you aware of crimes occurring in your community, the Department of Campus Safety and Security hope to encourage you to become actively involved in crime prevention. In accordance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1990, Viterbo issues this timely warning.
Incident:
Numerous vehicle entries were reported to the Department of Campus Safety and the La Crosse Police Department between April 1 and April 19, 2024. The majority of the incidents involved unlocked vehicles during all hours of the day; some of these incidents included reports of theft.
If you have further information about these incidents, submit a report using Viterbo Speaks Up. Viterbo University will email the campus community if additional, relevant information becomes available. In the meantime, please take into account the following crime prevention tips:
- Remove valuables from your vehicle
- Lock your doors
- Park in well-lit areas
- Reach out to campus and local law enforcement as needed:
