Approximately 60 students from area high schools were on campus Jan. 9 for “Big Bang Friday.” The sessions, which featured lab experiences and access to a variety of technology applications, explored medicinal chemistry, animal behavior, physiology, DNA analysis, and recreational math.

Glena Temple, Ph.D., has been named vice president for academic affairs and dean of graduate studies at Viterbo University effective Jan. 31. Following a national search, Temple was chosen to lead the academic programs at the university, succeeding Barbara Gayle who resigned in September.
American civil rights movement icon Ruby Bridges will give the keynote address at the La Crosse Community Annual Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19 in the Fine Arts Center Main Theatre.
