VITERBO UNIVERSITY TO HOST “FIRED UP FOR SCIENCE” APRIL 22
LA CROSSE, Wis. – Area students and their parents are invited to an evening of fun and interactive science experiments and demonstrations at Viterbo University’s annual “Fired Up for Science” event from 5:30–7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 22.
Volcanoes, slime, gummy bear sacrifices, dry ice, elephant toothpaste, and soda and Mentos geysers are just some of the visually appealing science experiments included in the program, which will be held throughout and outside the Reinhart Center. Participants will register in the Reinhart Center lobby and then go at their own pace to visit the experiments.
“People of all ages will enjoy this popular event,” said Kyle Backstrand, professor of biology, biochemistry, and neuroscience. “We are excited to welcome the students, and we hope to spark an increased interest in science.”
“Fired Up for Science” is presented by Viterbo STEM students. It is best suited for youth ages 3–14, but all ages are encouraged to attend. All children must be with a guardian. “Fired up for Science" is free and open to the public and advanced registration is not required.
