An established and expected best practice in higher education, Academic Program Review demonstrates how Viterbo engages in systematic and integrated planning and improvement.

Review of academic offerings is carried out by faculty through the Undergraduate Program Review Committee and the Graduate Program Review Committee. The goals of the process include to:

  • Highlight the alignment of each program with the university’s mission.
  • Support institutional goals for academic excellence and the academic portfolio.
  • Assure academic quality and improvement using broad, consistent criteria.
  • Enable programs to identify strengths and opportunities for growth.
  • Provide programs with formative feedback from faculty peers.
  • Empower faculty to guide academic quality.
