Digital programs are a recent innovation in the performing arts industry and are becoming widely adopted. The Viterbo University Fine Arts Center is a pioneer in the Coulee Region to move to digital programs starting January 2022.
Patrons have the opportunity to view programs on our website a week prior to the scheduled performance, before the performance begins while in the theatre, at intermission, and after.
To further clarify, all performances in the Viterbo Fine Arts Center's season are scheduled to be in-person. Only the show programs, information about each performance that used to be in a print booklet, will be digital.

Digital Programs–FAQs
Why are you transitioning to digital programs?
Digital programs are a farily recent innovation in the performing arts industry and are becoming widely adopted. We initially moved our show programs to a digital platform in January 2022 to lessen touch points while attending a performance due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, this allowed us to live our core value of stewardship while being environmentally responsible and implementing sustainable business practices.
How does this change benefit patrons?
Programs are mobile-friendly, in full-color with interactive elements and a menu that allows you to jump to sections of interest. Programs will be available sooner (a week before each performance), the season can be archived on our website, and dark and light mode is an available feature.
Are you going to return to print programs?
While there still may be special instances of print programs, the Fine Arts Center is committed to bringing this innovative digital platform to our patrons, as it aligns with current industry practices and aligns with our core value of stewardship as it relates to environmental and sustainable business practices.
How will I receive the show program?
After your ticket is scanned at the theatre entrance, you will receive a small card that has a QR code and instructions. When the QR code is scanned by the camera of a mobile device, it will take you directly to the program.
Are people going to use mobile devices during shows?
We encourage patrons to view programs before the start of the performance, at intermission, and when the performance concludes. Additionally, there is a dark mode button to tap at the top of the screen to limit luminescence from devices.
What if I don’t have a mobile device?
Digital programs will be available on the Viterbo Fine Arts Center’s website a week before each performance. The program will also be archived on our website.
