MAKE A GIFT SCHOLARSHIP IMPACT STORIES
Annual Scholarships
An annual scholarship can be established and is awarded on the basis of contributions received each year. Benefactors of an annual scholarship have the opportunity to name their scholarship in honor of a loved one, a respected Viterbo faculty member, or another individual who has meant something special to them.

Endowed Scholarships
Endowed scholarships are critical to the university because they generate predictable, growing streams of income in perpetuity. Benefactors of endowed scholarships have the opportunity to name their scholarship in honor of a loved one, a respected Viterbo faculty member, or another individual who has meant something special to them.
Endowed scholarships are created when the funds are invested, and only earnings from the core investment are distributed annually. A minimum principal of $25,000 is required to endow a scholarship; five percent of the fund is awarded each year (provided that there is interest income). Earnings in excess of five percent are reinvested to the core, thus ensuring that the scholarship will exist in perpetuity for students in need.
Endowed scholarships can be established through gifts of cash, stock, bequests, charitable trust, and insurance. Based on the gift vehicle, there are tax benefits available.

Non-Scholarship Funds
Annual and endowed non-scholarship funds provide special opportunities such as summer research, travel, or program expansion for students and faculty.
