Title IX protects offers protection from discrimination based on pregnancy and parental status in educational programs and activities. Schools are required to provide pregnant students, and students with related conditions such as childbirth, false pregnancy, end of pregnancy, or recovery therefrom, with at least the same special services as it provides to students with other temporary conditions.
As a pregnant or parenting student, you have the right to continue participating in classes and extracurricular activities, the right to reasonable adjustments and services, the right to excused absences and to make up work missed due to your pregnancy, and other accommodations, as long as deemed medically necessary by a doctor.

Academic Assistance
Pregnancy does not change your status as a student or your eligibility for academic support. The university should provide pregnant and parenting students with appropriate academic adjustments in the same manner as it provides academic adjustments to students with temporary disabilities. Tutors and other academic assistance are available through the Academic Resource Center. Contact arc@viterbo.edu.
