As part of their academic program, Viterbo University students may choose to participate in a full-time or part-time business-related internship. The goal is to provide students the opportunity to blend academic theory with practice and to explore and gain experience in functional areas they may wish to enter professionally. An internship plan including a timeline, intended outcomes, and assessment requirements must be approved by the students graduate advisor and arranged with the professor advising the internship. Health Care Organizational success is dependent on the ability of their leaders to engage in challenging conversations with other leaders and staff on a daily basis. The preferred method of dealing with challenging behaviors and difficult conversations in health care is through avoidance, a very ineffective method. Participants will understand their own preferred method of managing difficult behaviors and conversations, identify their triggers to conflict, and behaviors that escalate and de-escalate emotions during difficult conversations.

Global Finance teaches students important finance concepts like capital budgeting, taxation, fundraising, and investing with a particular focus on how globalization and international trade flows influence the domestic practice of finance. Students will understand currency flows and international loanable funds markets and their impact on exchange rates.
This course focuses on financial statement analysis, moving from bottom-line thinking to a "triple-bottom-line" definition of profitability, to encompass the organizations profits and social and environmental impact. Students learn how a policy of corporate social responsibility (CSR) can contribute to and enhance firm sustainability. They also learn financial valuation and use it as a decision-making tool in a socially responsible context.
