Viterbo prepared me not only for my professional career as a theatre teacher, but it also opened up my eyes to other cultures and countries—whether it be from analyzing a character in a play, or from the variety of experiences the professors have to share. Viterbo helped foster my confidence, passion for teaching, and also the desire to challenge and improve myself.

Being able to work with professional faculty molded me and truly prepared me as a professional actor. I was also encouraged to be the actor/singer/dancer I am, not the mold I should fit in. Numerous producers and directors have asked where I went for my acting training. I'm proud to say I went to Viterbo University.

My experience at Viterbo was very special. My training was not only thorough, but wide in scope. Today, a career in opera requires not only excellent singing, but serious acting skills as well. I chose Viterbo based upon the strength of the theatre program as well as the small class sizes. Viterbo provided not only a great training program for actors and singers, but opened me to many learning experiences that have enriched me as an artist.

My favorite thing about being a psychology major at Viterbo was the abundance of opportunities for growth as an individual and as a learner. The professors encouraged individual exploration and related this to our learning within the classroom.”

What I liked best about Viterbo were the small class sizes and the close relationships I had with my advisor and the social work faculty. I was able to sit down with my advisor and develop an academic plan. That made me comfortable and confident in the direction I was going and in my ability to succeed.

At Viterbo, I learned that leadership does not just happen because of a title or appointment. The community respect for service and philosophy shaped my perspective on my purpose and on the value of quality work. I became an even stronger advocate for progressive values and social change.

The education received in the classroom at Viterbo accompanied by professors that truly believed in me as a student were invaluable. To accompany that education and confidence with a strong and fitting internship experience set the stage for my present career in juvenile justice.”
