Greetings from the Fine Arts Center,
 
There is an understandably high level of concern as the coronavirus (COVID-19) spreads, and we, along with Viterbo University officials, are closely monitoring the situation as it evolves. Although there have been no confirmed cases in La Crosse County, the health and safety of our patrons, students, and staff is our first priority.
 

Viterbo Awarded $741,201 HRSA Opioid Workforce Expansion Program Grant
Viterbo University has been awarded a $741,201 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration Opioid Workforce Expansion Program.
Congratulations to Social Work AHEC Case Competitors

Congratulations to Samantha Boland (junior), far right, and Makenzie Vesbach (senior), far left social work majors who are Wisconsin Area Health Educator Center (AHEC) scholars that participated in a state-wide Interprofessional Health Care Case Competition. Samantha and Makenzie’s team reached the state finals in January at Wisconsin Dells.

Viterbo University Out-of-Our-Minds Chamber Music Series Continues with "Basically Beethoven: Too Early, Too Late" Feb. 17
The acclaimed ensemble Artaria String Quartet will present Basically Beethoven: Too Early, Too Late as part of the Out-of-Our-Minds Chamber Music Series at Viterbo University at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17 in the Fine Arts Center Nola Starling Recital Hall.
Premiere Eagles Tribute Band Alter Eagles to Perform at Viterbo University April 11
The Alter Eagles, the tribute band known as the most authentic representation of the legendary Eagles in their prime in the world, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 11 in the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center Main Theatre.

For Deak Swanson, starting a scholarship fund at a university he literally helped build was a great way to help students while honoring people he loves.

Viterbo University has been in the spotlight during the COVID-19 pandemic for donating medical supplies to Mayo Clinic, opening up Bonaventure Hall for medical worker housing, stories of nursing alumni on the front lines, and a musical theatre graduate's resourcefulness after her Broadway show was shut down.
Jessie Knapp Put Passions into Practice at President's Day of Service

Viterbo senior Jessie Knapp put two of her passions—service and the environment—into practice at the annual President's Day of Service in April.

"My love of the environment has always been an important part of who I am," said Knapp, a business major from Shawano who graduated May 12, 2018. "Since I was young, my family has always served others, and today service is ingrained in students at Viterbo."

Viterbo University Spring Commencement May 11
Four hundred-eight students, 308 undergraduate, 87 master’s degree, and 13 doctorate degree students, will be candidates for graduation at Viterbo University’s spring commencement ceremony at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 11 at the La Crosse Center.
