ACCLAIMED THEATRICAL CIRCUS COMPANY TROUPE VERTIGO TO PERFORM AT VITERBO UNIVERSITY APRIL 30

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The outstanding circus company Troupe Vertigo will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 30 in the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center Main Theatre.

Fusing together elements of cirque acrobatics, classical dance, and contemporary theatre, Troupe Vertigo brings audiences on a spellbinding journey through the world of artistic movement. Consisting of world-class aerial artists, contortionists, and ballet dancers, Los Angeles-based Troupe Vertigo was founded in 2009 by artistic director Aloysia Gavre, formerly of the internationally-renowned Cirque du Soleil, and technical director Rex Camphuis, whose background is with the fabled Pickle Family Circus.

“…A never-ending flow of creative expression,” wrote a reviewer in the Los Angeles Times of their performances.

Troupe Vertigo performs regularly at theaters, concert halls, festivals, and special events. They also have been creatively involved with world-class symphonies. Troupe Vertigo’s facility is also home to Cirque School, LA’s premier circus training space. Gavre’s and Camphuis’s expertise is often utilized by the film and television industry, most notably for Rebel Wilson’s aerial performance in Pitch Perfect 2 and by Reese Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz for circus instruction and character background research for the film Water for Elephants.

This performance is part of Viterbo’s Bright Star Season and is sponsored in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts. The La Crosse Tribune and WKBT News 8 are the media sponsors. Holiday Inn Express is the hotel sponsor.

Tickets are $42 for main floor, $38 for lower balcony, and $32 for upper balcony seating. For tickets, contact the Viterbo box office at 608-796-3100.
