2024 Viterbo Grad Lexi Oestreich Dedicated to Helping Others
An appreciation of community is just one of the life and academic lessons Lexi Oestreich will take with her as one of 448 candidates for graduation at Viterbo’s spring commencement ceremony at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 11 at the La Crosse Center. Recently awarded the Viterbo's St. Catherine's Medal, she will graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology with minors in criminal and community justice and substance abuse counseling.

Viterbo Employees Honored at Annual Rose Awards Ceremony
Dan Johnson-Wilmot, a longtime vocal music professor, was named Viterbo University's 2024 Teacher of the Year at the university's annual Rose Awards ceremony held May 2, while Nicky Rose, a key member of the academics administration staff, was named 2024 Employee of the Year.

When Scott Mihalovic was approached with the offer to be the first William Medland Chair of Educational Leadership, university officials didn’t know just how deep of an honor it would be to him.

Mihalovic has been at Viterbo for 10 years, overseeing the university’s educational leadership graduate and certificate programs. His connection with Viterbo, however, goes back much longer.

Honoring Medland: Major Gift Establishes Viterbo’s First Endowed Chair

When William Medland came to Viterbo College in 1991, hired as the institution’s seventh president, he planned to stay for five years. By the time he stepped down as president in 2006, Viterbo had experienced 15 years of growth and transformation, going from a college undergoing financial difficulties to a financially secure, full-fledged university that had experienced 13 straight years of record enrollment.
