DAVID BAUER NAMED DIRECTOR OF THE CASAGRANDE INSTITUTE FOR HIGHER EDUCATION EFFECTIVENESS AT VITERBO UNIVERSITY

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Former Viterbo faculty member and higher education consultant David Bauer has been named the director of the Casagrande Institute for Higher Education Effectiveness at Viterbo University.

Formerly known as Casagrande Consulting, the Casagrande Institute for Higher Education Effectiveness provides assessment, analyses, and other client services in three main categories: executive, faculty, and staff compensation effectiveness; board effectiveness; and leadership effectiveness. It is part of Viterbo’s Center for Professional Learning.

Casagrande Consulting owner Frank A. Casagrande gifted the future of his company to Viterbo University effective July 1. Casagrande Consulting had served more than 100 institutions of higher learning since its founding in 2009.

“I couldn’t be more pleased with Viterbo’s decision to name David the director of the Casagrande Institute,” Casagrande said. “His commitment to the mission of the university, the institute, and higher education in general is clear to all that know him. I look forward to supporting the institute and him in the future.”

Bauer earned a master’s degree and a PhD in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and bachelor’s degree in psychology from Hope College. He served for 15 years as a psychology department faculty member at Viterbo University before becoming a higher education consultant. As a senior consultant with Casagrande Consulting, Bauer specialized in providing data-driven solutions and strategic insights for faculty compensation and restructuring projects. He also emphasized the importance of associating compensation with effective behavior.

“It is a privilege and honor to lead the Casagrande Institute for Higher Education Effectiveness, and returning to Viterbo University makes this role even more meaningful,” Bauer said. “I am excited to build on the strong foundation laid by Frank Casagrande and continue enhancing the success of our clients while advancing our shared goals of excellence in higher education.”
