VITERBO UNIVERSITY SPRING COMMENCEMENT AT THE LA CROSSE CENTER MAY 10
LA CROSSE, Wis. – Four hundred-thirteen students, 287 undergraduate, 105 master’s degree, and 37 doctorate degree students, will be candidates for graduation at Viterbo University’s Spring Commencement Ceremony at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 10 at the La Crosse Center.
Tonya Wagner, vice president for academic affairs and institutional effectiveness, will serve as Master of Ceremonies. David Ryckman, a social studies education major from Hurricane, Utah will give the undergraduate student address and Master of Science in Community Medical Dietetics student Mackenzie Wanta will deliver the graduate student address.
Viterbo President Rick Trietley will confer the degrees and Wagner, Rick Walters, executive artistic director of the Conservatory for the Performing Arts, and Megan Smith, dean of the College of Nursing and Health, will present the candidates. The diplomas will be awarded by President Trietley and Board of Trustees Chair John McHugh.
Retiring nursing faculty member Sheryl Jacobson will provide the invocation, Wagner will lead the Prayer of St. Francis, and university chaplain Fr. Conrad Targonski, OFM, will give the benediction. Wisconsin State Senator Brad Pfaff and Board of Trustees member and Viterbo alumna Ann Boland will provide congratulatory remarks.
Receiving the title of faculty emeritus will be professors Sheryl Jacobson, nursing, and Dale Krageschmidt, business.
A Baccalaureate Mass will be held that morning at 10 a.m. in San Damiano Chapel on the Viterbo campus. Fr. Targonski will preside at the liturgy. The Nursing Pinning Ceremony will be at 6 p.m. Friday, May 9 in the Fine Arts Center Main Theatre. Both the commencement and pinning ceremonies will be livestreamed.
