SYNTHESIS ART EXHIBIT BY ROBERT PATRICK TO OPEN IN THE VITERBO UNIVERSITY GALLERY SEPT. 13

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Synthesis, an exhibit of paintings by contemporary artist Robert Patrick, will open Wednesday, Sept. 13 in the Viterbo University Gallery.

Using personal visual codes, I communicate my sense of being in the world through imagery that is as much visceral as rational,” said Patrick, who draws inspiration from a multitude of sources including the rhythm and intuition associated with music, especially jazz and blues.

A reception with Patrick will be held from 4–5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6 in the gallery followed by a lecture by the artist Fine Arts Center 219. Both events are free and open to the public.

Patrick’s works have been in exhibits throughout the U.S. and has been included in notable exhibitions in Germany and South Korea. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Minnesota and was awarded the prestigious McKnight Foundation Fellowship in 2003.

The show will run until Wednesday, Nov. 15. There is no admission fee to the gallery, which is located on the third floor of the Viterbo Fine Arts Center. The gallery is open from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. when school is in session. For the full schedule of Viterbo University gallery exhibits, visit https://www.viterbo.edu/art-track/viterbo-university-gallery.
