SOUTH AMERICAN DANCE AND DRUMS SENSATION MALEVO TO PEFORM AT VITERBO UNIVERSITY MARCH 22
LA CROSSE, Wis. – Malevo will bring their famed passionate drumming, explosive dance, and fiery theatrics to the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center Main Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 22.
Known as “Argentina’s answer to STOMP and Riverdance,” Malevo is a group of men who have created a performance that gives audiences an extraordinary visual and sensory experience that is unlike any other. They take the traditional Argentine dance of Malambo originally by Gauchos of the Pampas region and elevate it by fusing it with other dance styles such as Flamenco and incorporating live percussion onstage. Malevo has created this electrifying new touring show designed for performing arts centers and festivals.
Founded by director, choreographer, and dancer Matias Jaime, Malevo was named a “Cultural Ambassador of the National Identity of Argentina” and has performed at prestigious venues around the world.
This performance is part of Viterbo University’s Bright Star Season. It is supported in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts.
Tickets are $55 for main floor and lower balcony, and $45 for upper balcony seating, plus taxes and fees. For more information or to order tickets, contact the Viterbo box office at 608-796-3100 or visit www.viterbo.edu/tickets.
