COMEDIAN PAULA POUNDSTONE TO PERFORM AT THE WEBER CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS SEPT. 13

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Comedian Paula Poundstone will bring her acclaimed brand of humor and wit to the Weber Center for the Performing Arts Lyche Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13.

In addition to being a longtime stand-up comedian who performs at theatres across the U.S., Poundstone is also an author, a regular panelist on National Public Radio’s Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me, and hosts the weekly comedy podcast, Nobody Listens to Paula Poundstone.

Poundstone has released five comedy albums and has been featured in several documentaries and compendiums about influential comedians. She has starred in several HBO specials, including Cats, Cops and Stuff, which received a cable ACE award for Best Comedy Special. Among her other notable appearances, she was the first female comic to host the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, she filed live coverage of the 1992 Democratic and Republican national conventions and the presidential inaugural for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and the 93rd Emmy Awards.

Poundstone has also starred in two television series, both titled The Paula Poundstone Show. Her second book, The Totally Unscientific Study of the Search for Human Happiness, was one of eight semi-finalists for the Thurber Prize for American Humor, and the audiobook was one of five finalists for the AUDIE award for Audiobook of the Year.
