The Magnify Living Community at Viterbo University is dedicated to fostering spiritual growth, faithful service, and ethical leadership in a vibrant faith-filled community rooted in our Catholic Franciscan identity.
To join this Catholic faith community, you must be a current student and formally apply to the Magnify Living Community. If accepted, you will be placed in Treacy housing by Residence Life, who will communicate all housing details to selected students.
Members of the Magnify Living Community at Viterbo University strive to live an authentic Franciscan Catholic witness in a welcoming and loving environment that fosters the core values of Contemplation, Hospitality, Integrity, Service, and Stewardship. It is not a requirement to be Catholic to be a member of the Magnify Living Community. Members will be expected to actively participate in community events and activities, as well as attend regular meetings and participate in an engaged and active community of faith. Members will also be expected to uphold the community's standards and guidelines at all times. Members are also expected to personally strive for growth in their spiritual lives, commitment to service, ethical life and leadership.

Catholic Living Community events and activities include:
- Retreat opportunities which include a fall retreat, Magnify, and other campus ministry retreat opportunities.
- a community service project each semester
- monthly community nights with campus ministry
- regular weekly gatherings for prayer and community building

- Respect for the rights and privacy of all community members.
- Compliance with university policies and procedures.
- Remain in good academic standing (striving to maintain a cumulative, semester 2.5 GPA)
- Authentic commitment to living Franciscan Catholic witness and have an openness to the precepts of the Catholic Church.
- Active participation in community events and activities, which includes:
- A Fall Retreat as a community and Magnify Retreat
- A service project each semester
- Monthly community nights with Campus Ministry (Prayer, Formation, Community).
- Regular weekly gatherings as a community for Prayer/Liturgy/Fraternity (as determined by the community).
- Personal commitment to grow in areas of Faith, Service, the Ethical Life, and Servant Leadership.
- Open and respectful communication with community members.
- The living spaces of this Magnify Living Community will be a substance-free community, as described in the student handbook.
- Willingness to hold oneself and others accountable for upholding community standards.
Once you are accepted into the Catholic Living Community, you will be placed in Treacy apartments. You can request suitemates/roommates, but all suitemates/ roommates must be accepted into the Catholic Living Community. Four students will be placed in each apartment. Two students per apartment. Private rooms can be requested for an additional fee.

Members of the Catholic Living Community will also have access to a lounge in Treacy that will be available for Catholic community gatherings and prayer. You will also be encouraged to take advantage of spaces such as San Damiano Chapel and the Sr. Thea Bowman Center.
As part of the interview process, you will with a member of Campus Ministry to discuss your application and reflections questions.
Acceptance into the Magnify Living Community will be based on your ability to demonstrate a commitment to the community's guidelines and standards, as well as your ability to contribute to the MLC in a positive way.
