New York pianist and La Crosse native Dave Marck and friends will celebrate the music of Hoagy Carmichael, one of the most successful Tin Pan Alley composers of the 1930s. He embraced the technologies of the new age of mass media with recordings, radio, film, and television. Some of the tunes you’ll hear include Stardust, The Nearness of You, Skylark, and Georgia on My Mind. 

Marck will be joined by longtime colleagues Greg Balfany on saxophone, Karyn Quinn on bass, and Rich MacDonald on drums. Marck spends much of the year in New York, where he is an acclaimed jazz pianist. He returns to La Crosse each year to visit friends and family and to perform in the area. This is his 10th free concert at Viterbo.
