Argumentative Writing Across Genres
Students in this course analyze and construct arguments using the rhetorical appeals of ethos, pathos, and logos but also read and write arguments according to the conventions of particular genres such as op-ed pieces, scholarly articles, film reviews, blog posts, and advertisements. Students write rhetorical analyses of published arguments and write two longer arguments with sources before remixing one argument into a different genre. Recommended for pre-law program.
