SLP School-Based Clinical Externship
This course provides full-time opportunities to apply and learn appropriate professional and clinical skills, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills while engaged in prevention, identification, evaluation, diagnosis, planning, implementation and/or intervention of communication disorders in educational settings. Speech-language diagnostic sessions and individual or group therapy sessions will be arranged and supervised by an ASHA certified SLP employed by the off-campus practicum site. This course is designed to meet the requirements of WI-DPI for student-teaching, ASHA and CAA skills competencies across the lifespan, and total clinical hours requirements. Prerequisites: 522, 526, 644.
