Introduction to School Counseling
This course is designed to provide an orientation to the profession of school counseling and the related standards of ethical practice. Participants in this course will begin the process of developing a professional school counseling identity through the exploration of personal, professional and contextual frameworks of school counselors at the elementary, middle and high school levels. Several competencies will be reviewed including collaborative consultation, curriculur planning, student advocacy, and program design. An orientation to the school counseling program including practicum and internship will be articulated.
