About

Faculty Member Since: 2023

I am an assistant graduate nursing professor at Viterbo University, with a focus on innovative teaching methodologies, interprofessional education, and the integration of technology in nursing education. I have four years of practical nursing experience, during which I discovered my passion for teaching while serving as a preceptor at the bedside.

My journey in academia began as an adjunct professor at Viterbo University, just two years into my nursing career. In August 2023, I transitioned to a full-time role. My teaching philosophy centers on active learning, critical thinking, and evidence-based practice, aiming to inspire students to develop both knowledge and confidence in their professional abilities.

In addition to my academic role, I continue to work at the bedside, which allows me to stay current with evidence-based practice and integrate this knowledge into the classroom. This ongoing clinical experience ensures that my teaching remains relevant and grounded in the realities of modern health care.

I am deeply committed to nursing mentorship and exploring how preceptor and educator competence, confidence, and professionalism impact the student learning experience. My research interests include simulation-based learning, mentorship in nursing education, and the development of professional skills among nursing students. I am actively involved in several research projects that examine these areas, aiming to enhance the quality of nursing education and student outcomes.

At Viterbo University, I have successfully managed various educational initiatives, including course development and implementation, ensuring accreditation compliance, and initiating community outreach and engagement. My collaborative efforts with colleagues have led to the continuous improvement of our nursing program and the creation of innovative educational resources.

While my scholarly work has not yet been published, I am dedicated to contributing to the advancement of nursing education through ongoing research and collaboration. I am honored to be part of the Viterbo University community, where I can pursue my passion for teaching and mentorship and contribute to the development of future nursing leaders.
