Effective Tuesday, Feb. 8, health services will offer COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters on Tuesdays and Fridays. Walk ins are welcome in the mornings. Students can also schedule in advance via Starfish.
Viterbo faculty, administration, and staff are invited to present and/or attend the Celebration of Teaching and Learning on Friday, Feb. 18, from 3:30–5 p.m. in the FSPA Lobby of the Fine Arts Center. Join faculty and instructors from a variety of disciplines as they share teaching and learning experiences, instructional strategies, methods, and outcomes via 15-minute mini sessions. To present, sign up by Monday, Feb. 14. Scholarly or informal work related to teaching and learning is welcome. Those attending will enjoy wine, beer, snacks, and the good company of colleagues and friends.
First-year and transfer nursing students: The application for the professional nursing sequence is now live. An information session about the application process will be hosted on Tuesday Feb. 8 at 10 a.m. in Nursing 104. The February AAUW meeting will be held Saturday, Feb. 12 at 10 a.m. via Zoom. John Schneider, who has exhibited both painting and pottery at past AAUW Art Fairs will be the featured guest speaker. If you are passionate about the environment and sustainability, join the Student Sustainability Club on Tuesday, Feb. 8 from 5–6 p.m. in RCE 132. Attend for pizza and salad, and help plan several events this spring.

The Viterbo NetVUE vocation grant committee (Footsteps), invites you to take part in a book discussion on Parker Palmer’s Let Your Life Speak, Tuesday, Feb. 15 from 11 a.m.–noon via Zoom. This short read (100 pages) is described as a “....compassionate and compelling meditation on discovering your path in life. With wisdom, compassion, and gentle humor, Parker Palmer invites us to listen to the inner teacher and follow its leadings toward a sense of meaning and purpose....he shares insights gained from darkness and depression, as well as fulfillment and joy, illuminating a pathway toward vocation for all who seek the true calling of their lives.” Pre-registration is appreciated. Deconstructing White Privilege in Advising Tuesday, Feb. 8 from 1–1:50 p.m. in Murphy Center 346 and Zoom. Faculty and academic advisors are invited to join in a discussion about Tema Okun’s article “White Supremacy Culture” and Peggy McIntosh’s article “White Privilege: Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack.” These articles will help bring awareness to privilege so participants may discuss how it relates to advising practices and how these practices might be changed. Participants are not required to read the articles before the discussion, as an overview will be presented. Sponsored by Academic Advising.
