THE UKULELE ORCHESTRA OF GREAT BRITAIN TO PERFORM AT VITERBO UNIVERSITY APRIL 14

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Audience members will enjoy a funny, virtuosic, twanging, foot-stomping evening of music ranging from Tchaikovsky to Nirvana to Otis Redding to Spaghetti Western soundtracks as The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain takes the Viterbo Fine Arts Center Main Theatre stage at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 14.

Formed in 1985, The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain is something of a national institution in their home country. They have performed thousands of sell-out concerts all over the world, including at some of the world’s most famous venues, such as Carnegie Hall, Sydney Opera House, and The Royal Albert Hall.

“They extract more than seems humanly possible from so small and so modest an instrument,” wrote a reviewer in the New York Times.

This performance is part of Viterbo’s Bright Star Season and is sponsored in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts. WKBT News 8 is the media sponsor.

Tickets are $36 for main floor, $32 for lower balcony, and $26 for upper balcony seating. For more information or to order tickets, contact the Viterbo box office at 608-796-3100 or visit www.viterbo.edu/tickets.
