Last Monday, Emilio Alvarez, campus ministry, and students enrolled in VUSM 300 course, Serving the Common Good, loaded up food which was to go to locales such as Place of Grace, the La Crosse Warming Center, and Centro Latino. The food was part of a 12,500-pound donation from Festival Foods and Burnstad’s Markets which was announced at a press conference just prior to the distribution activity. Viterbo will seek to double the goal and collect 25,000 pounds of food throughout the 125th anniversary year. To date, the Viterbo community has collected 1,500 pounds, a total expected to sharply increase during the holidays when a number of drives are held on campus.
