President’s Column

Thursday, February 9, 2017

Thank you to the many individuals who have been involved in the search processes for the vice president for academic affairs, the dean of the College of Nursing, Health and Human Behavior (CONHHB), and the dean of the College of Education, Science and Mathematics (COESM). Open sessions continue over the next two weeks and I encourage you to take part in the open sessions as your schedule allows. Rick Kyte and Jennifer Anderson-Meger are chairing the VPAA search, Tim Schorr is chairing the dean of COESM search, and Tom Knothe is chairing the dean of CONHHB search if you have any questions.

The Viterbo Board of Trustees met Jan. 30. The trustees had the opportunity to attend a class with students, have lunch with students who participated in a study abroad trip over the winter break, and have dinner with long-serving faculty. Thank you to students, administrators, staff, and faculty who took part in the board activities. As part of the meeting, the board approved the parameters for the 2017–18 budget, and approved the two new graduate degrees in nutrition and dietetics (pending approval from accrediting agencies).

I continue to meet with constituent groups to identify and refine priorities in the strategic plan for the next three years. I welcome your participation in one of the open sessions or your feedback at any time about our priorities over the next three years.
