ONE-OF-A-KIND CHAMBER MUSIC SERIES AT VITERBO
UNIVERSITY TO FEATURE PIANO TRIOS OF LOUISE DUMONT FARRENC APRIL 6

CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo University One-of-a-Kind Chamber Music Series will
continue with “Clara and Louise II” at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 6 in the Fine Arts
Center Recital Hall.
“Clara and Louise II” will feature
the piano trios of Louise Dumont Farrenc with vocal selections by Clara
Schumann. The recital will be performed by Mary Ellen Haupert, pianist, Nancy
Oliveros, violinist, Laura Sewell, cellist, and Ann Schoenecker, soprano.
Haupert and Schoenecker are faculty members at Viterbo University. Oliveros is
a founding member of the critically acclaimed Artaria String Quartet and Sewell
is an accomplished musician who has performed with many highly distinguished
artists.
Louise Dumont Farrenc (1804–1875)
was a respected French composer, pianist, teacher and editor of a historical
anthology of keyboard music. Clara
Schumann (1819–1896) was a German musician and composer. She enjoyed a 61-year concert
career and is considered one of the most distinguished pianists of the Romantic era.
