JIM WITTER RETURNS TO VITERBO UNIVERSITY TO PERFORM I WRITE THE SONGS: CELEBRATING THE GENIUS OF BARRY MANILOW APRIL 10
LA CROSSE, Wis. – Audience favorite Jim Witter and his band will return to the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center for the seventh time as they present I Write the Songs: Celebrating the Genius of Barry Manilow at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 10.
Sing along with famous classics such as Mandy, Can’t Smile Without You, Could It Be Magic, Weekend in New England, and Copacabana as Jim Witter and the outstanding musicians in his band expertly perform the music of acclaimed singer and songwriter Barry Manilow.
“I remember singing Manilow songs while I was playing piano bars in southern Ontario as a teenager,” said Witter, who has been performing professionally for the past 30 years. “I love these tunes. Everybody does. Even those who won’t admit it…they love a good Manilow song.”
Jim Witter’s previous performances at Viterbo were The Piano Men and The Piano Men II featuring the music of Billy Joel and Elton John, Feelin’ Groovy—A Musical Journey through the 60s featuring the Music of Simon and Garfunkel, The Long and Winding Road: The Music of Lennon and McCartney, Jim Witter’s Coffee House, and Jim Witter’s Christmas Memories.
I Write the Songs: Celebrating the Genius of Barry Manilow starring Jim Witter is a Viterbo special presentation. It is sponsored in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts. La Crosse Radio Group is the media sponsor.
