After years of serving Des Moines Independent Public School District as a teacher, school administrator, director of human resources, and associate superintendent, Dr. Bridgewater finally retired. Or did he?

Absolutely not. He offered Viterbo University, an opportunity to expand their master’s degree program and principalship endorsement program into Iowa. Dr. B became the director of the Viterbo Iowa Center in West Des Moines, Iowa. He traveled the state recruiting teachers (students) to be a part of these programs. He established classes in more than twenty communities throughout the state. Dr. B hired a professional staff to teach in his vision. (I was honored to have been selected.)

Thank you to Dr. Bridgewater and Viterbo University for being part of this innovative program. I had the opportunity to meet many of Iowa’s finest teachers who followed Dr. B to become lifetime educators.
