Curriculum and Assessment, Birth to 6

This course is a study of developmentally appropriate curriculum and assessment practices from birth to age 6, including children with special abilities and/or developmental differences. This course emphasizes healthy social and emotional development as the foundation for learning. Students utilize evidence-based instructional strategies to create supportive environments and experiences that increase each childs ability to learn through play and exploration. Additionally, there is an emphasis on developing parent and family partnerships, early learning academic standards, and interdisciplinary techniques across multiple content areas. Field work may be required by the instructor. Prerequisite: 215.
