Sr. Marie Leon LaCroix, FSPA
Sr. LaCroix was asked to start a Theatre Department at Viterbo in 1955, commencing a teaching, directing, and costuming career that would span 41 years until her retirement in 1996. During that time she was the pivotal mentor in the lives of hundreds of promising theatre students. Nurturing beauty by cultivating the arts, Sr. La Croix introduced with passion, the Greeks, Shakespeare and other masterpieces to our community. The theatre program she founded eventually moved to a magnificent new facility she helped design, the Fine Arts Center, home for the Viterbo performing and visual arts programs.
