Coming up:

This is your final call to vote in the Tree Trimming Competition. Five trees in the Viterbo Fine Arts Center atrium (main entrance) have been decorated by Viterbo students representing various charities. You can vote for your favorite tree by marking a monetary donation until Thursday, Dec. 15. Donation boxes are by the trees. All proceeds will go to the specific charity that the tree represents. The winner will receive a bonus $25 added to their charity’s donation.

The Senior Soiree with the President is Thursday, Dec. 15 from 5:30–7 p.m. in Fine Arts Center FSPA Lobby.

Celebrate Commencement on Saturday, Dec. 17 with the following events: The Nursing Pinning Ceremony at 8:30 a.m. in the Fine Arts Center Main Theatre; Sending and Blessing Reception at 9:30 a.m. in the Fine Arts Center FSPA Lobby; Baccalaureate Mass at 10:30 a.m. in San Damiano; and Commencement Ceremony at 2 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center Main Theatre.

"Blessed are the Peacemakers" Ethics Conference is April 13–15. The Ethics Institute invites papers examining the conditions peaceful society, the history and philosophy of nonviolence, the character traits required for a lifelong commitment to peace, the characteristics of flourishing communities, the importance of peacemaking in leadership, and education for peace. Presentation proposals should be no more than two pages in length and include name, affiliation, address, and e-mail address. Presentations will be limited to twenty minutes with ample time provided for discussion. Proposals for panel discussions and “works in progress” are encouraged. Deadline for submissions is January 30, 2023. Proposals and inquiries may be sent to ethics@viterbo.edu. Write “Ethics Conference Proposal” in the subject line.

Offices will be closed on Friday, Dec. 16 from 3–4:30 p.m. so employees may attend the Employee Christmas Social in the FSPA Lobby. If you are interested in volunteering at the social, contact Anouk Goreta at aagoreta@viterbo.edu.

Military-aligned students: Join military student success and campus ministry for conversation and fellowship at the Recovery Room Sports Pub and Grill on Thursday, Dec 15, 4:30–6:30 p.m. Wings and soft drinks are provided.

Join Campus Ministry in attending the SEEK23 Conference Jan. 2–6 in St. Louis, Missouri. SEEK23 is for any student who desires to go deeper into the Gospel message and discover how to answer Jesus’ call to relationship and discipleship on campus. The cost of attending the conference including housing would be $400, if cost is a barrier, contact the Emilio (ebalvarez@viterbo.edu). Individuals who would like more info or to register for the conference should email cmga@viterbo.edu.

Copy and Mail Center Hours: On Dec. 12–15 and Dec. 19–22 hours will be 7:30 a.m.–5 p.m. On Dec. 16 hours are 7:30 a.m.–3 p.m. (closed for Employee Christmas Social). The Copy and Mail Center will be closed during holiday break, Dec. 23–Jan. 2. Normal hours will resume Jan. 3. Mathy Center Winter Break Hours: The Mathy Center will be closed Sunday, Dec. 18. Hours on Dec. 19–20 will be 10 a.m.–2 p.m. The Mathy Center will also be closed Tuesday, Dec. 21–Monday, Jan. 2. There will be no group fitness classes Dec. 19–Jan. 2. Noon fitness classes will resume Jan. 3. After Christmas break, Mathy Center hours will be 11 a.m.–3 p.m. on Jan. 3–6 and Jan. 9–13. The building will be closed Jan. 7–8, 13–14.
