Service Hours and Food Drive Final Push

Reminder to the Viterbo community to log your service hours and donate food in honor of Viterbo’s 125th Anniversary celebration. The academic year is drawing to a close and the final push is now underway.

Members of the Student Dietetics Association prepared vegetable and turkey lasagna for the April 27 meal at the La Crosse Warming Shelter. The ingredients were donated on behalf of Viterbo’s 125th Anniversary and theme of providing Hope and Help.

Viterbo Employees Honored at Rose Awards

Mike Behan (pictured with President Rick Artman), associate professor of business, was named Viterbo’s 2015 Teacher of the Year at the annual Rose Awards ceremony April 30.

Outstanding

Student Julia Callaghan was presented with the President’s Award by President Rick Artman at the annual Volunteer Recognition Event April 27 in the Fine Arts Center Lobby. The award honors Callaghan’s outstanding campus involvement and volunteer efforts. Area high school students were also honored at the event.

Spring Commencement is Saturday

Four hundred seventy-four students, 374 undergraduate, 94 graduate, and six associate degree students, will be candidates for graduation at Viterbo’s spring commencement ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 9 at the La Crosse Center.

Log Your Service Hours and Activities

We need everyone to participate. What are you doing to help your community, church, school, favorite non-profit, or cause? Coaching little league, helping a neighbor, bell ringing for Salvation Army, running/walking a 5K for charity, or participating in Viterbo campus/organization volunteer activities…all great examples of service that you can log. Volunteerism and service can be formal or informal; you be the judge. When you are giving your time you are contributing to the common good.

Father Conrad Targonski, OFM joined students in a “What’s the hoopla about internships?” hula hoop contest in Assisi Courtyard. Prizes were awarded for longest hula hooping and most creative hula hooping.
