When he’s working, the Rev. Brian Konkol can be found just about anywhere—the chapel, the classroom, the college board room, even on the basketball court. That’s just all part of the job as chaplain at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn.
Allie Loomis ’07, campus minister at Murray State University
After working and attending graduate school for a semester, Viterbo graduate, Allie Loomis knew she wanted to go into ministry full time. She also knew she was ready to make a move into the next phase of her life.
In the past half century, Viterbo University has seen a lot of change, with five presidents overseeing an ever-evolving and growing campus, but there have been a few constants. One of them is Dick Record, whose involvement and support goes back to the mid-1970s.
"Paying it forward" and working for the common good, fairness, and justice are all Viterbo lessons Juan Jiménez '01, '06 took to heart. He has served Viterbo University on both the alumni board and the board of advisors.
The drive to support Viterbo volleyball scholarships helped keep retired Professor Grant Smith going on his quest to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.
Katie Drury, who earned her nursing degree from Viterbo and taught in the nursing school for several years, has used her own bout with COVID-19 to help increase awareness of the disease and what it takes to prevent its spread.
