Friendships Created in Master’s Program Cherished Years Later
They met through their Viterbo Master of Arts in Education program and graduated together in 2009. 14 years later, this group of women from Green Bay and surrounding areas are more than educators networking over careers and classrooms. They are known as The Viterbo Eight. They created lasting friendships where all eight support one another through life’s ups and downs, share milestones and career news, and cherish their frequent get-togethers.

After earning a bachelor’s degree in biology, Julia Johnson was unsure of her preferred career choice. Knowing she wanted to work in health care, Johnson took a CNA course and accepted a nurse tech position at a long-term care facility in Osseo.

She quickly discovered patient care was the field for her.

Wisconsin Nurses Honor Guard Pays Tribute to Fellow Nurses
A special group of nurses in Wisconsin volunteer to honor and respect their nursing colleague who has passed and to honor the profession of nursing. Members of the Wisconsin Nurses Honor Guard attend a funeral or celebration of life and conduct a brief, meaningful service that speaks to the tradition of nursing, and is personalized to the nurse who has either passed away or is nearing the end of their life.
2024 Viterbo Grad Lexi Oestreich Dedicated to Helping Others
An appreciation of community is just one of the life and academic lessons Lexi Oestreich will take with her as one of 448 candidates for graduation at Viterbo’s spring commencement ceremony at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 11 at the La Crosse Center. Recently awarded the Viterbo's St. Catherine's Medal, she will graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology with minors in criminal and community justice and substance abuse counseling.
