YONDER MOUNTAIN STRING BAND TO PERFORM AT VITERBO UNIVERSITY NOV. 2
LA CROSSE, Wis. – Experience the finest in progressive bluegrass music with the Grammy-nominated Yonder Mountain String Band when they perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2 in the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center Main Theatre.
Founded 26 years ago, Yonder Mountain String Band remains at the forefront of bluegrass as an innovator and pioneer of the modern jamgrass movement. Bending bluegrass with elements of rock, alternative and improvisational music, Yonder Mountain brought their high-energy and sound into rock n’ roll settings with tremendous success, proving it possible for a bluegrass band to not only exist but excel in a rock world, without drums. The inroads they made created opportunities for like-minded acoustic bands to perform at festivals, rock clubs, theaters and stadiums previously considered off-limits for string bands.
It is a testament to the legacy of Yonder Mountain String Band that their original songs and unique interpretations of covers are regularly performed by next generation marquee bluegrass bands. Yonder Mountain String Band is celebrating 2024 with two studio album releases and a full touring schedule.
Tickets are $50 for main floor, $40 for lower balcony, and $35 for upper balcony seating, plus taxes and fees. The age recommendation for the show is 16 and older. For more information or to order tickets, contact the Viterbo box office at 608-796-3100 or visit www.viterbo.edu/tickets.
