Students are invited to the first Dialogue in the Diversity Lounge (Murphy 579) on Thursday, Sept. 9 at 2 p.m. This space is for students to meet new people and talk about important topics in a relaxed environment. Share ideas about the future direction of Dialogue in the Diversity Lounge by attending on Thursday or emailing Megan Pierce at mkpierce@viterbo.edu.

Join the Breaking Barriers Diversity Club for their first meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. in NRC 101. During the meeting new people will be introduced, future events will be discussed, and there will be a small activity to learn about the basics of diversity. All are welcome to attend.

Each & Every Day film screening and discussion will take place today from 4:30–6 p.m. and Thursday, Sept. 9 from noon–1:30 p.m. in Brophy 123. Each & Every Day is a documentary about youth mental health through the eyes of young people who have attempted suicide or struggled with suicidal thoughts.

Students and employees are invited to play chess with students at a university in La Crosse’s sister city, Dubna, Russia via Zoom from 10 a.m.–noon on Saturdays beginning Sept. 11. The activity is not designed to be competition based, but instead friendly for all skill levels and as an opportunity for dialogue.

 

Notices:

Health Services will be holding a TB test clinic on Friday, Sept. 10from 1–2 p.m. in Nursing 103. Cost is $5. Reading of the tests will be on Monday, Sept.13 in Nursing 104 from 1–2 p.m. 

The FSPA will be placing gently used desks, chairs, and other furniture outside their building in the parking lot for anyone who would like to take it.

Suicide Prevention Week takes place from Sept. 5–11. Counseling Services has information and awareness displays being held throughout campus during this awareness week.
