Coming up:

Health services will be offering COVID-19 Pfizer vaccinations for first, second, and booster doses on the Wednesday, Oct. 13 from 9–11 a.m. in Murphy 340. Booster shots can only be received at least six months after the second dose. To qualify for the booster dose, individuals must meet one of the following criteria:

  • People over 65 and residents in long term care settings should receive a booster
  • People aged 50-64 with certain underlying medical conditions should receive a booster
  • People aged 18-64 with certain underlying medical conditions may receive a booster
  • People aged 1—64 years who are at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of occupational or institutional setting may receive a booster

Viterbo will host a blood drive on Tuesday, Oct. 19 from 9:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center Lobby. Schedule an appointment to be a priority donor online at bit.ly/viterbooct19 or call 877-232-4376. Walk-ins welcomed, appointments encouraged.

Health services will be offering another flu shot clinic on Tuesday, Oct. 19 from 4–6 p.m. in the Student Union. 

Viterbo’s Student Theatre Project is holding auditions Oct. 22 and Oct. 23 in FAC 129 for their first cabaret entitled, "Never Would I Ever." This will be a cabaret of songs that individuals would normally not sing or roles they would not be cast in the industry because of age, type, etc. (*Use your best judgement when picking material and steer away from material that is telling a story not meant for you to tell*). Students should prepare a minute cut of a song they would be interested in performing for the cabaret. Students are asked to provide their own accompaniment or track for the audition. Sigma Theta Tau Pi Phi chapter presents their fall event, “Supporting our New Grad RN’s – Finding Success when Entering the Workforce” on Oct. 14 from 3–5 p.m. in Assisi Courtyard. This meet/greet and educational session will feature a panel of Pi Phi board members discussing some of the most crucial skills new nurses should have as they enter the workforce, recommendations to increase stamina and vitality, and growth and development tips from experienced nurses. Lawn games, pizza, and socialization will follow the discussion. A limited number of free gifts will be available on a first-come first-serve basis. Come learn about Sigma, an organization dedicated to developing nurse leaders anywhere to improve health care everywhere.

The Viterbo Community is invited to a retirement farewell party for Sandy Harvey in the Costume Shop in the lower level of the Fine Arts Center Friday, Oct. 15 from 8–11 a.m. Grab some goodies and thank Sandy for her 18 years of service to Viterbo.

The recreation department is hosting a 3-on-3 basketball tournament for students on Thursday, Oct. 14 starting at 7:15 pm. Register closes tonight at 8 p.m. Register on IMLeagues Oct. 12.

Undergraduate advisors are invited to attend the Advising Neurodiverse Students advisor development session Wednesday, Oct. 13 at 11:15 a.m. in Murphy Center 346. This session, facilitated by Lisa Konkel, will review neurodiversity, summarize challenges commonly faced by neurodiverse college students, and share strategies for advisors to use as they become champions for the neurodiverse student.

Students from all three campuses are invited to serve with Hamilton Elementary, GROW La Crosse, Habitat for Humanity, the FSPA Garden, Salvation Army, Boy Scouts, and more. Join the Identities Project Team as they collaborate with the La Crosse Public Library on a walking tour through La Crosse on Oct. 13 to hear about the history of the LGBTQ+ community. The tour will depart at 4:30 p.m. Meet at the Student Union at 4:10 p.m

          Identities Project also encourages participants to read We Will Always Be Here: A Guide to Exploring and Understanding the History of LGBTQ+ Activism in WisconsinWe've Been Here All Along: Wisconsin's Early Gay History, and Coming Out, Moving Forward - Wisconsin's Recent Gay History to gain an inside look into historical events and topics being explored on the walking tour. Copies of the books will be available to borrow in the Diversity Lounge.

Military aligned students and families are welcome to wing night at the Recovery Room Sports Pub and Grill on Oct. 13 from 4:30–6:30 p.m. All you can eat wings will be available and drinks must be purchased.
