Sigma Theta Tau Pi Phi Chapter will hold their social event Friday Night at the ER on Tuesday, Nov. 16 at 4 p.m. in NRC 203. This systems-thinking game challenges teams of four to manage a busy hospital during a simulated 24-hour period that takes just one actual hour. The team’s goals are clear: to deliver high quality health care at low cost within the allocated time. But just like any organization, the scenario is complex and how to achieve those goals isn’t so obvious at first. Teams face spike in demand, limited resources, time pressure, unexpected events, decision choices, and performance accountability. In this simulation learning experience, people become students of their own behaviors. Participants can see the big picture, naturally broaden their thinking, and learn what it takes to be successful as a system. All are welcome to attend and nursing experience is not required for participation.

Message from Mission and Social Justice: As a Catholic Franciscan University, in November we honor All Saints and All Souls, remembering those who have gone before us. We are called, each in our own way, to mourn the losses in our family and community. During this Transgender Awareness Week, we invite the Viterbo community to also remember the beautiful lives that have been lost due to anti-transgender violence. As a university, we stand with the Catholic Church in denouncing any and all acts intended to harm the transgender community and we renew our commitment to the promotion of the Gospel values of compassion and love for all.
Congratulations to the women’s volleyball team for their seventh straight NSAA tournament title win over Bellevue.
