Monday, May 9

6 p.m. Final Table of Plenty for the Year – Sr. Thea Bowman Center

Coming up:

Employees: Friday, May 13, 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. is the Annual Employee Picnic. Join the Hospitality Committee for lunch and fellowship in the Assisi Courtyard. All efforts are being made to accommodate accurate catering numbers so please RSVP here if you plan to attend (please note that this event is for employees only even though you can RSVP for more than one thru signupgenius).

Attention students and faculty: Most library books (not to be confused with textbook rentals) are due back by Friday, May 13. Remember to return all of your library books before you leave campus for the summer to avoid late fees and replacement charges. Note that students may not be able to register or receive a diploma until library fines are settled.

Students: Employee assembly is sponsoring a Food for Finals booth for students. Three locations will be available during the week of finals week for students to grab a snack as they study for their exams: located in the Academic Resource Center, Copy Center and Library.

Rental books are due back by Monday, May 16. Students who have rented a book, can drop it off in-store (preferred method), utilize the dropbox inside the student union, or ship it back at their expense. Convert to purchase costs are far less than any non-return fees so please log into your bookstore account or contact the bookstore before May 16 if you would like to keep your rental. Non-return charges will go out at the end of the month.

Buyback going on now at the bookstore: Bring any books purchased into the bookstore to see what can be purchased from you. The bookstore pays cash and a student ID is required. For off-campus selling, click on "Sell Your Textbooks" link at the bottom of www.viterbostore.com.

Volunteers needed: The Place of Grace garden is in need of volunteers to weed and water over the summer. Those who can contribute a few hours each week can sign up using this link. Email lweide70228@viterbo.edu for questions.

El Sol, Spanish Newspaper Spring 2022 edition is now available online: https://elsolspanishnewspaper.com/. Students from SPAN 306 worked on several articles from teaching Spanish language in both La Crosse and rural schools in Wisconsin to impact of COVID-19 among Latinx, services available for the homeless community of St. Claire Mission, among other topics. Comments or suggestions at elsol@viterbo.edu.

Classic Vitnet is being replaced by Vitnet Self-Service. The company is no longer supporting the tool after June 1. Therefore, IIT will be shutting down Classic Vitnet on May 18 at 5 p.m.  A Vitnet to Self-Service FAQ guide related to this transition can be found on the IIT Sharepoint site, under VitNet Self-Service Help.

The Viterbo Fine Arts Center will offer three weeks of Creative Arts Camp this summer for students ages 5-12. Registration is open now until Wednesday, June 1. Sign up for one, two, or three weeks. More info on the themes and registration at www.viterbo.edu/creative-arts-camp.

Notices:

Health Services would like to remind employees and students to get your COVID-19 booster shot before heading home for the summer. Anyone can get the first booster if it has been 5 months since the last dose give, but the second booster is only available for those over the age of 50 or immunocompromised, and at least 4 months after the last dose. Contact Health Services at 796-3806 to schedule. Students can schedule via Starfish.

New virtual meeting backgrounds are available on the communications website here.

Congratulations to the 2022 Rose Awards winners. Check out photos from the event on Flickr.

Did you land a summer internship? Tell us about it! Still looking for a summer job or internship? Career Services has strategy session appointments for all students via Starfish.

Summer Student employment opportunity: The Viterbo Fine Arts Center is seeking student staff members to work in the box office/patron services, and event coordination. Students do not need to be a performing arts student to apply, and will be trained on the job. There are multiple positions available, and this is a steady 40-hours-a-week position. Learn a lot, try new things, and grow marketable skillsets in a fine arts setting. Interested? Fill out this application. For more information contact facstudentwork@viterbo.edu.
