Coming up:

Rental books are due back by Monday, May 16. Students who have rented a book, can drop it off in-store (preferred method), utilize the dropbox inside the student union, or ship it back at their expense. Convert to purchase costs are far less than any non-return fees so please log into your bookstore account or contact the bookstore before May 16 if you would like to keep your rental. Non-return charges will go out at the end of the month. 

          Buyback going on now at the bookstore: Bring any books purchased into the bookstore to see what can be purchased from you. The bookstore pays cash and a student ID is required. For off-campus selling, click on "Sell Your Textbooks" link at the bottom of www.viterbostore.com.

El Sol, Spanish Newspaper Spring 2022 edition is now available online: https://elsolspanishnewspaper.com/. Students from SPAN 306 worked on several articles from teaching Spanish language in both La Crosse and rural schools in Wisconsin on the impact of COVID-19 among Latinx, services available for the homeless community of St. Claire Mission, among other topics. Students: Fuel up for finals week at Viterbo's Late Night Breakfast this Sunday, May 8 from 9–10 p.m. in the Caf. Don't miss out on delicious breakfast food, some pre-finals fun, and great prizes. This event is free and open to all students. 

Employees: Friday, May 13, 11:30 am–1:30 pm is the Annual Employee Picnic. Join the Hospitality Committee for lunch and fellowship in the Assisi Courtyard. All efforts are being made to accommodate accurate catering numbers so RSVP here if you plan to attend (please note that this event is for employees only even though you can RSVP for more than one person through signupgenius).

Courtyard Carni is Friday, May 6 in Assisi Courtyard from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. All Viterbo students and employees are welcome to share a meal and enjoy programming provided by the Weekends at VU team. Visit the webpage for more details. Sign up for a shift to help with this event. Volunteers are needed to set up tables and chairs in the morning, facilitate different stations during the event, and clean up afterward. Set-up starts as early as 8 a.m. and cleanup is anticipated to be done by 4:30 p.m. Reach out to cgburnsgilbert@viterbo.edu with questions.

          During the Courtyard Carni event the Student Sustainability Club will be selling sunflowers and sunflower seeds and the art department will be selling prints of sunflowers for anyone interested in showing support for Ukraine.

Food for Finals: Three locations will be available during finals week, May 9–May 13, for students to grab a snack as they study for their exams. Viterbo employees are invited to donate individually bagged treats, pre-packaged snacks, and non-refrigerated items.  Monetary donations can be sent in a sealed envelope via intra-campus mail to Mary Mormann (Murphy Center 510). Food donations can be dropped off at the Copy Center, the Library and outside Murphy Center 332 (ARC). Monetary donations are accepted at any time. Freshly baked items may be dropped off in Murphy Academic Resource Center, room 332 any time.

Classic Vitnet is being replaced by Vitnet Self-Service. The company is no longer supporting the tool after June 1. Therefore, IIT will be shutting down Classic Vitnet on May 18 at 5 p.m.  A Vitnet to Self-Service FAQ guide related to this transition can be found on the IIT Sharepoint site, under VitNet Self-Service Help.

The Copy Center is looking for summer student workers, office hours are 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. We have 30 hours/week available in May, 15 hours/week available in June and July and 20 hours/week available in August. The library is hiring current students for summer employment. Students do not need Federal Work-Study for these positions. Summer Student employment opportunity: The Viterbo Fine Arts Center is seeking student staff members to work in the box office/patron services, and event coordination. Students do not need to be a performing arts student to apply, and will be trained on the job. There are multiple positions available, and this is a steady 40-hours-a-week position.
