Monday, March 14

6 p.m. Table of Plenty: Supper and Scripture – Campus Ministry

Coming up:

Members of the community are invited to show their concern and solidarity with the people of Ukraine by participating in MИP*: Ukrainian Peace Project, an outdoor art installation designed by students in ARTS 111/121 - Drawing Design class. In this project, participants may offer a prayer, thought, or hope for the Ukrainian people by writing it down on a small piece of paper and hanging it among others from one of several ribbons hung around the trees. All materials are provided at the installation site. The project will take place on the Viterbo University campus, at the Birch trees behind Murphy Center. The event will begin at 3:30 p.m. with a student-led vigil on Monday, March 21. The installation will remain up and interactive through Tuesday, April 12.  *MИP (pronounced mir) is the Ukrainian word for peace.

Student Veteran and Military Aligned Students are invited to participate in two upcoming events. The Student Veterans Club will hold a gathering on Thursday, March 24 from 12:30–1:30 p.m. in the Military Aligned Student Center in the lower level of Reinhart Center.
The second event is the Viterbo University MAS HorseSense Outing for Saturday, March 26 from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. There are six spots available. Participants must fill out required paperwork by Monday, March 21. For more information and questions, contact James R. Michael, SVA Interim President at jmicha74692@viterbo.edu.

The musical comedy Church Basement Ladies will make a special appearance at the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center Main Theatre as part of its 20th anniversary national tour on Thursday, March 17 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. For more information or to order tickets, contact the Viterbo box office at 608-796-3100 or visit www.viterbo.edu/tickets.

Employees: Don’t forget to sign up for the Hospitality Committee’s St. Patrick’s Day Soup Potluck, Thursday, March 17 from noon–1 p.m. in Brophy Commons.

Physical Plant staff will be testing the fire sprinkler alarm systems throughout campus on Tuesday, March 15. This is a required quarterly test. The alarms will sound briefly in each building. There is no need to evacuate unless additional instructions are given. The process will begin at 7 a.m. in the academic buildings followed by the residence halls. The buildings impacted by this are: Bonaventure Hall/Student Union, Marian Hall, Rose Terrace, Clare Apartments, Mathy Center/Varsity Athletics, School of Nursing, Fine Arts Center, Reinhart Center, and La Verna Apartments.

IIT will be conducting a number of updates over spring break. On Wednesday March 16 8 a.m.-noon: Printing to network attached printers and usage of multi-function devices for printing, emailing, or copying will be down as we update the servers responsible for that functionality. This includes services offered in the Copy & Mail Center. Wednesday March 16 from 5:30-10 p.m.: Network updates will occur causing internet access from on campus as well as off-campus access to on-site systems to experience periodic outages. Plan accordingly for these outages. As always, you can monitor Is It Down for planned or unexpected system/network outages.

Sophomore Students: You are invited to join your fellow sophomores to enjoy a free meal and spend some time with your professors the first night back from spring break, Monday, March 21 at 6 p.m. in RCE 134. The mood will be casual, and you’ll have a chance to get to know your faculty, meet new people (feel free to bring your sophomore friends and come as a group), ask questions (e.g., Should I take a minor? What is that class like? Where do I go to find information about internships?), and eat something tasty. Email AcademicsOffice@viterbo.edu by Tuesday, March 15 to let us know if you can attend and if you have any dietary restrictions.
