Friday, July 31

Viterbo recreation staff understand that as people return to campus, they are excited to return to the Mathy Center. Currently the facility is still closed, but they are looking to reopen sometime in August. More information on a specific date will be shared via social media and VU Today.

Employees: The president’s office will host Viterbo Campus Beautification Morning from 9 a.m.–noon Friday, Aug. 14. Up to 25 employee volunteers are welcome to spend the morning weeding, picking up trash, etc. in a designated area on campus. This activity is completely voluntary and participants will need the permission of their supervisor. Space will be limited to 25 volunteers, and a priority will be given to those individuals available for the entire time block. Email RSVP is required to Sheila Severson, who is coordinating the event, at smseverson@viterbo.edu. Wear appropriate clothing and bring your own gloves if you want them. Masks are required when social distancing is impossible.

If your office or department is planning any orientation events or sessions on Sunday, Aug. 30, email Colin Burns-Gilbert by 8 a.m. Monday, Aug. 3 to have them added to the official orientation schedule.

Deb Daehn-Zellmer and Maria Morgan-Bathke will host the next Viterbo employee water cooler session from noon–1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5 via Zoom at https://viterbo.zoom.us/j/95062280813. Discussion topics include introduce yourselves to colleagues in small groups, what innovative COVID-19 related preventative techniques have you been using?, and where do you need help related to COVID planning?
