Employee reminder: A university forum will be held Tuesday, Jan. 11 in the Fine Arts Center Main Theatre from 9–10:30 a.m. A continental breakfast will precede the forum at 8:30 a.m. in the FSPA Lobby. At 10:45–11:30 a.m. Marlene De La Cruz Guzman will present Social Justice, Equity, and Inclusion. Lillian Wanjagi will give a budget presentation from 1–2 p.m.
The Viterbo community is invited to save the date for the 2nd Annual Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, Learning, and Celebration on Monday, Jan. 17. Formal classes on Jan. 17 are cancelled to encourage all students, staff, and faculty to participate in our campus activities. The planning committee has created an engaging day that honors the life and legacy of Dr. King, including a light breakfast and blessing hosted by Campus Ministry, a morning of service with over 250 service sites in the local community, and an engaging afternoon of lectures, panels, and workshops. A service immersion opportunity at Fort McCoy will be held January 12–14. Volunteers are needed to engage with guests, guide them in their lessons, monitor supplies, and make their stay in Wisconsin a little more enjoyable. Starting Jan. 7, all volunteers at Fort McCoy must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Those interested should register by emailing Colin Burns-Gilbert and complete a brief form to help with base access approval. The deadline to register to serve is Friday, Jan. 7 at 9 a.m.
