The Viterbo Fine Arts Center is moving show programs to a digital platform. Digital programs are a recent innovation in the performing arts industry and are becoming widely adopted. The FAC is a pioneer in the Coulee Region to move to digital programs starting January 2022. Additionally, this allows the FAC to live Viterbo’s core value of stewardship while being environmentally responsible and implementing sustainable business practices. The Viterbo Art Alumni Exhibition will open with a reception from 5–7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26 in the Viterbo University Gallery. The show will run until Wednesday, Feb. 23. There is no admission fee to the gallery, which is located on the third floor of the Viterbo Fine Arts Center. The gallery is open from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. when school is in session.
Counseling services walk-in/crisis hours begin today. Hours are Tuesday and Thursday from 9–10 a.m. and Monday–Thursday from 3–5 p.m. If possible, check-in with Julie Roth in the HUB (MRC 332) prior to being seen. The musical comedy Church Basement Ladies will make a special appearance at the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center Main Theatre as part of its 20th anniversary national tour on Thursday, March 17 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Students: Campus Ministry, in partnership with the Franciscan Spirituality Center, is holding a Busy Student Retreat from Feb. 6–March 3. This retreat is designed around students’ schedules, and is an excellent resource for those feeling disconnected and overwhelmed, or looking for extra support in their spiritual journey. Students are invited to participate in a research study conducted by dietetic interns at Viterbo. Participants will be asked to complete one questionnaire regarding food frequency and any personal barriers to fruit and vegetable consumption through the survey software Qualtrics. Singers of all abilities are invited to join the St. Francis Choir at the San Damiano Chapel. The choir sings for Masses on Sunday mornings at 11 a.m. (rehearsals are just before at 10 a.m.). St. Francis Choir also sings for special events on campus, Holy Days, and holidays. Instrumentalists are welcome as well.
