3:30–5 p.m. “Mindful Eating” with Counseling Services – Mathy Center Second Floor Landing – Mindful Eating is a practical application of basic non-judgmental and thoughtful engagement with the food we consume.  Mindful eating practices are helpful in making better food choices, avoiding emotional eating habits, help us feel fuller on sensible portions of food and even promote better digestion. Stop by this counseling service lead event to learn more information.

Students: Starting Feb. 28 through March 11 students will receive an invitation in their email entitled “Win Prizes with Viterbo University and the ACHA-NCHA Survey”. The survey is designed to assess student health behaviors in order to provide better services and support for Viterbo University students. All students who submit a survey will automatically be entered in a random drawing for prizes. Save the Dates for two inaugural graduating senior recognition events: a senior dinner with the president (graduating seniors only) on Thursday, May 12, 5:30–7 p.m. in the Mathy Center and the Sending and Blessing (students and their families/special guests) on Friday, May 13, 8 p.m. in the Assisi Courtyard (rain: FAC Main Theatre). Nominate a student today for the St. Catherine’s Medal: Consider nominating them for the St. Catherine’s Medal. Student Recognition Ceremony: Do you know a student who has made an impact this year at Viterbo? An instructor who has gone above and beyond to guide student organizations/efforts? Employees whose spouse or child will be graduating have the opportunity to present their diploma cover during commencement ceremonies. Any Viterbo employee interested in presenting a family diploma cover must notify the commencement committee by Tuesday, March 1. Academic regalia is required and may be rented from the bookstore. Adopt a Site: President’s Day of Service is Saturday, April 9. If you are part of an organization, club, class, department, or other group, consider adopting a service project. If interested in adopting, email Colin at cgburnsgilbert@viterbo.edu by March 1 at 9 a.m. Groups adopting will be able to rank preferences and receive their project assignment before registration goes live in mid-March. Click here for more information about the day.

Employees: Tuition Remission forms for the 2022-2023 academic year are to be completed before April 1, 2022. This is a hard deadline and is to ensure that financial aid has enough time to process them. HR would encourage anyone who is even thinking they might want to take classes or start a program during the 2022–23 academic year to fill one out as forms will not be accepted past April 1, 2022. Join the Office of Mission and Campus Ministry for a papal watch party. On Thursday, Feb. 24 at noon, Pope Francis will be addressing university students from North, Central, and South America. He will dialogue with students (preselected) and will offer advice and wisdom on salient challenges of our time. The event is hosted by Loyola University in Chicago and we have been invited to watch. Join us, starting at 11:45 a.m. in Campus Ministry.

Reminder: Sigma Theta Tau International Honors Society of Nursing’s Pi Phi Chapter presents their annual Lamplighter Scholarship. Each year, the Pi Phi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society may award a scholarship to an eligible undergraduate member. The chapter may also award a scholarship to an active member who is pursuing an advanced degree in nursing, or who is participating in a Nursing research or an evidence-based practice project. Each award is in the amount of $500 and is unrestricted. Submit all application materials to Dr. Kerri Busteed (kjbusteed@viterbo.edu) by Tuesday, March 1. The next Contemplation Workshop will take place on Friday, Feb. 25 at 10 a.m. in the Interfaith Prayer Room in the Campus Ministry building. Professor Michelle Pinzl will lead us in a meditative practice. This session will last 30 minutes and everyone is welcome to attend.
