From moving in to our first college party, breakup, or first failed test, our college experience is one of learning and growth with many laughs and aha moments along the way. Each person has their own journey and story that make up who they are, it’s just about what they do with that after they leave these halls. Attend the second and/or third of three Belief Beyond Borders Interfaith Lunch Conversations on Islam and Judaism. The second lunch conversation on Islam is slated for Wednesday, April 21 and the third lunch on Judaism is slated for Monday, April 26. A lunch featuring dishes that have special meaning for various Islamic and Jewish groups will be served. All employees and students are welcome. Course update for fall 2021 registration: PHIL 486 – Just Food: Putting Ethics Back on the Table, a special topics course on food ethics will be offered for the first time in fall 2021. The restriction of “junior standing and above” has just been removed. All majors welcome. This course will be offered as a philosophy and moral inquiry credit – pending approval later this spring. The courses ask: What is the relationship between the good life and good food? Between a just society and a just food system? Moving between the local and the global, the personal and the political, this course takes up the many and diverse ethical questions that attend to one of our most basic human activities: eating. The Enactus Garden Committee is looking for volunteers this summer. The group grow gardens located at the Place of Grace and Coulee Recovery Center. Produce is shared with each organization and used in the meals they offer to the community. Whether for one day or throughout the whole summer, your help is appreciated.
