Viterbo University will host the 17th annual Seven Rivers Undergraduate Research Symposium Friday, Nov. 15. Most, if not all, of the events and sessions will be in the Fine Arts Center and the School Nursing Building. Oral presentations are scheduled from noon–2 p.m. and the poster session will be from 2–4 p.m.

Faculty and staff volunteers are needed to help in three main roles:

  1. Oral Presentation Room Facilitator: This person keeps the oral presentations on track with the schedule for the space they are assigned. They introduce the presenter(s) and inform the audience/judges of any updates or reminders. They also help tabulate evaluations after the oral presentations to determine overall winners in the three general discipline categories (natural sciences, social sciences, humanities).
  2. Oral Presentation Judges: Two people in each oral presentation room judge the content of the presentation. They are asked to objectively write notes/feedback on their evaluation forms that will be scanned for presenters. The oral presentation rubric is available at www.viterbo.edu/sevenrivers for reference.
  3. Poster Session Coordinators: Two or three people will act as a host during the poster sessions. They are most needed to channel their Viterbo hospitality and remind attendees to vote for the poster of their choice to recognize the work of our undergraduate presenters. They’ll also assist with the transition between the two, one-hour sessions. These volunteers also help tabulate votes for the “People’s Choice” poster awards at the end of the session (approximately 3:50 p.m.)

Email Colin Burns-Gilbert with your preference of duties to volunteer.
