VITERBO UNIVERSITY’S PLATINUM EDITION SHOW CHOIR AND GUESTS TO PRESENT 125 YEARS OF SONG OCT. 25

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Viterbo University’s popular Platinum Edition show choir and special guests will present an evening of great singing and dancing as they present 125 Years of Song at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 in the Fine Arts Center Main Theatre.

125 Years of Song will feature the music popular over the past 12 decades, including music from Tin Pan Alley and early Broadway, Swing, the 1950s, the British Invasion, disco, punk, new wave, and pop.

“The show was really fun to research, and audience members of all ages will enjoy it,” said Nancy Allen, Viterbo music department faculty member and director of Platinum Edition. “The performance will be very entertaining, and the students are enjoying the diversity of the music and the choreography.”

Platinum Edition has enlisted the services of seven of the premiere show choir choreographers in the nation for the performance. Guest performers include the Coulee Kids Choir, Nancy Stoll, Onalaska School District music teacher and singer for the band Mr. Blink, and G-E-T third grade student Rubie Stetzer will perform a solo and a duet from Annie with Viterbo student Hunter Evenson.

Allen will serve as the pianist for the performance. She will be joined by a band of eight well-known local musicians. Fellow Viterbo faculty member Matt Campbell will be the Master of Ceremonies.

“It will be a great show,” Allen said. “I invite everyone to attend and enjoy a performance by some very talented students.”

125 Years of Song is the 16th fall show for Platinum Edition. The group is nationally known in show choir circles and has performed across the U.S., including in New York, Los Angeles, Orlando, and Branson, Mo.

Tickets are $20 for main floor, $17 for lower balcony, and $14 for upper balcony seating. For more information, contact the Viterbo box office at 608-796-3100 or visit www.viterbo.edu/fac.
